Our Mission
MacWood Film Arts Development Society aims to provide local artists with opportunities to develop their skills and pursue an education and career in filmmaking in Dawson Creek through accessible courses, on set experience, and funding opportunities.

Our Story
Award winning filmmakers Grady MacTavish and Ryan Leawood pursued a career in filmmaking early on in 2016, but no opportunities existed in Dawson Creek.
Taking the years of experience they had amassed producing short films and commercials, they sought out to change that, producing their first Indie Feature in 2023, called "Hard Reset".
In their attempts to get funding for their project, they were met with great adversity, and they decided to do whatever they could to develop a film industry in their home town.
