We’re thrilled to announce that the MacWood Filmmaking Course for Adults has officially started! Over the next several weeks, participants will be diving into the art of filmmaking—developing scripts, directing actors, mastering cinematography, refining their editing skills, and ultimately bringing their own short films to life.
This course isn’t just about learning; it’s about doing. By the end, every participant will have created a 3–5 minute short film, ready for festival submission or online release.
Community Support Making It Possible
This initiative wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our local community. We are honored to have backing from:
Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre (KPAC) – Providing space and resources for learning and creativity.
The City of Dawson Creek – Supporting the growth of local arts and filmmaking in the region.
Peace River Regional District – Helping to make this program accessible to aspiring filmmakers across the region.
Why This Course Matters
Filmmaking is more than just cameras and editing, it’s storytelling, collaboration, and problem-solving. Our goal is to equip local filmmakers with the skills, confidence, and knowledge to create their own films, no matter their experience level or budget.
We’re excited to see the creativity that emerges from this program and to help build a thriving film community right here in the Peace Region. Stay tuned for updates, behind-the-scenes content, and spotlights on our participants as they bring their films to life!
Let’s make some movies! 🎥
